Once In A Lifetime Moments

Sometimes we are blessed with Once In A Lifetime Moments. Those moments may be good or bad, last for a very long time or last just a few seconds. You may have planned it or maybe just felt the vibe and did it spontaneously. Maybe something happened to you or in front of you. Whatever or however it happened you remember and it becomes fond memories. Yes, there are bad memories but there are also ways to look at those in a positive viewpoint... (last statement cause me to daydream for a moment lol) Moving on

These last 3 weeks have been filled with moments/memories that will surely last a lifetime, but this moment. .. It all begins with Misty.

Misty and I go back. Her son is my Godson. Our history is quite intricate but to save time we will say that we have definitely had our ups and downs. We got into it a few years ago and my solution to all my problems is to cut people off (very bad I know), in my defense I'm also a chance giver because I believe over time people change (some for better others for worse), but you can tell ahead of time who is gonna grow and improve. I knew from when I met her she would grow because God guarantees to teach us lessons in the areas we need help with in our lives. As I bid Misty farewell 4 years ago I knew she had a lot to go through. I also had a feeling that I was about to go through it too.

Over the last 3 years Misty has tried to reach out to me via social media. Every time I blocked her. Partly because I still didn't trust her but mostly because of the Crap (notice the capital C) I was going through personally. Recently, I deleted ALL of my social media except Google+ and LinkedIn, and some fashion, music/radio, modeling/acting communities lol.  Either way, about 4 weeks ago she found me on Google+ and I finally responded and we have been slowly building a friendship ever since.

I finally got the chance to hang out with her 2 Wednesdays ago at an event that she presents every Wednesday called Lyme Light Reloaded at Vypz Lounge. It is Broward County's Largest and Most Successful Open Mic. I had an absolutely amazing time. At the door you're greeted by a very beautiful and sexy lady (there is a difference and she was both) accepting $10 bills before you enter through the curtains. The atmosphere is very urban and big with a nice sized, well lit stage. There are high tables and low tables with seating.  VIP seating is on stage. A sitting bar with stools line the walls and the bar is at the BACK OF THE BUILDINGGG! Lol (yeah... I don't know why I yelled that either). The sound system was better than some I've heard at more popular establishments. The host was... well, Misty! lol not gonna lie I was shocked to see her in that light, but I knew she could do it. She even surprised me by calling me on stage after I told her how I was feeling the vibe so much that I wanted to rap. Although I said it hypothetically she took it figuratively and made it happen. It was all good though. I've been on stage many times, never for rapping though. I've been on stage playing in orchestra and band, singing both solo and choir, and acting in gospel stage plays but never rapping. What's more interesting is that I could actually rap, like for real!

In support of Misty International and Pink Diamonds Entertainment I got up there. It was all fun and laughs but when I thought about it afterwards I rap very gansta and hood but I look and speak so nerdy lol. The "one time for my hood" came up out of me, but I looked like Susie sailing on a ship lmao. Let me stop telling you and show the video. Yes there's a video thanks to Misty who emailed it to me yesterday thus giving me lots to laugh about for the rest of life. Of course I must share that laughter with you... ...

Here is my....

(I might do it again. It was fun and I was pretty raw)

Back to School

So... it's back to school time. For many it's one of the busiest times of year. For me it's a little extra busy. For myself and my three sons it's also football season. My favorite and yet most trying time of year. Today I'm sitting in my car listening to music, writing this blog, and watching my 11 year old practice. He didn't want to come today. He never wants to go and i always tell him that if he doesn't want to go he can quit. What does he do? Get dressed for football practice, and to add insult to injury he does this EVERY SINGLE DAY! The 12 year old is home with the stomach flu. I know it's genuine because he loves football. This child lives for football. He dreams football lol. I encourage him because he is very smart and quick witted and does very well in school. The 7 year old is always ready to go anywhere. He loves to play football too but he also loves running around and socializing. Since he gets out of practice earlier than the older two he gets to run around and play.

I must say it is tough. I'm a single mom raising 3 sons. Just writing it was tough but it is the truth lol. I get a lot of help from my parents and brothers. I have a small circle of friends that are helpful too, but for the most part I'm on my own and right now it's doctor and dental appointments, school shopping, registration into school, football practice every day, working, cooking and cleaning, breaking up fights, listening to wining, trips to the beach, going to dinner, movie and game nights, and so much more. I'm exhausted to say the least and can not wait for the school year to start. Even though it's still gonna be crazy busy at least the scheduling will be much more organized.

Well, thank you for reading this rant lol. Check back with me after the weekend for some interesting news!
